Rivals is an event that celebrates the 11th birthday anniversary of the game. This event features 4 Rivals of the core crew: Catrine, the group's leader and Jake's Rival, Bruno, a technologist and Yutani's Rival, Hali, a DJ and Fresh's Rival, and Lawrence, a performance artist and Tricky's Rival. Catrine, Bruno and Lawrence were surfers, where the core crew was originated from, while Hali was the only one not from that city (she was a surfer instead), The 5 current hoverboards of the Rivals are: Danger Dasher, Future Wave, Rave Rider, Sharpeed, and Ice Cool. The boards were released in , , , , and .

• This event featured 4 characters as the Rivals of the 4 main characters of the game (often being the main antagonists of the 4 core crew). Each Rival was released 2 updates after the last one ( was released after and (Catrine was released after Frutti and Spraybot), was released after and (Bruno was released after Rain and Alfie), was released after and (Hali was released after Tainá, Yutani Harlequin Toad and Yuto), and was released after and (Lawrence was released after Thursday, Outatime Jake, Ji-Yeong and J Balvin).
• They all wear the same shoes with same-but-different colors of their shoe laces except Hali who have two different colours of hers (light red on the right side and the light green on the left side).
• Bruno is autistic, amputee, and has a prosthetic left arm.
• Hali is the only rival who is not from as confirmed in her "MEET THE CREW" page. She and Fresh also contested a virtual DJ battle.
  • Although in the Rivals comics it is stated that Bruno is from Argentina and he traveled to to battle Yutani, which would make him the 1st Rival not from and Hali the 2nd.
• Lawrence is the oldest rival, being 17. They're also non binary and go by He/They pronouns.
• Sharpeed and Ice Cool are the only boards of the rivals that does not have the Double Jump ability, instead Sharpeed has Super Jump and Super Speed, while Ice Cool only has the Super Speed ability.
• Sharpeed is also the only board that has one word on its name.
• Initially, at the teaser video of , Catrine was introduced as a "New Surfer" like other surfers before her. However, when other Rivals after her comes next, the term were instantly changed to "New Rival" in their teaser videos. For example, in teaser video, Bruno is introduced as a "New Rival" instead of "New Surfer".
• At the end, all of the Rivals were tied up with the core crew. Because of this, there is no winners or losers in the four battles.
• All of the group's boards were based on Groovy's shape, except for Ice Cool, which has Freestyler’s shape.
• Each of the Rivals also have a pact with Super Runners (Super Runner Jake - Catrine, Super Runner Yutani - Bruno, Super Runner Fresh - Hali and Super Runner Tricky - Lawrence).
• The and updates had the Rivals Logo (®) in the map.
• The group's logo (®) can be found on each of the crew's garments (spotted on Catrine's hoodie, at the back of Bruno's t-shirt, at Hali's headphone and on Lawrence's suspenders).
